LOIS PATRICIA HAKALO

<p>A graveside service for Lois Patricia Hakalo, 97, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Glenrock Cemetery in Glenrock, Wyoming with Pastor Rick Bishop of the Glenrock Community Baptist Church officiating. </p><p>Lois Hakalo died Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Shepherd of the Valley Healthcare Center in Casper, Wyoming. </p><p>Lois was born Monday, February 8, 1926 on the family homestead 33 miles northwest of Douglas, Wyoming, near the Ross Road.&nbsp; She was the daughter of Wyoming homesteaders, Louis Joseph and Betsy (Kaarbo) Mason, who settled in the area in 1916.&nbsp; She was reared at the homestead and received her education at the Brown Springs country school which was a short distance from the homestead.&nbsp; </p><p>She was married to Matthew Orville Hakalo on July 16, 1966 in Glenrock, Wyoming.&nbsp; They lived and worked on Orville’s grandfather’s homestead off of Mormon Canyon Road south of Glenrock their entire married life </p><p>She is survived by special friend Lucretia “Peaches” Richards of Glenrock and numerous nieces and nephews. </p><p>Lois was preceded in death by her father, Louis, on October 4, 1925; mother Betsy, on December 11, 1941; husband, Orville, on August 20, 2011; and siblings, James L. Mason on August 4, 1995, William Henry Mason on November 19, 1989, and Betty Virginia Gwartney on March 16, 2010. </p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorials to Alzheimers Association of Wyoming, 2232 Dell Range Boulevard, Suite 101, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82009 would be appreciated by the family. &nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>The Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming is in charge of the arrangements. </p><p>Condolences may be sent to the family at www.gormanfh.com </p>
