Salinas - Charles D. Brownfield, 93, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on May 21, 2023. He was born April 24, 1930 in Holton, Kansas.

Charles joined the US Navy after graduating High School in 1948. While stationed in Monterey he met the love of his life, Marianne. They were married 60 years before Marianne passed away in 2011. Charles was a meat cutter for over 30 years before retiring. He loved to fish and hunt with his boys, and to spend time with his family.

Charles is survived by his sons: Michael (wife Eva) Brownfield of Gilroy, Paul (Becky) Brownfield of Prunedale, and James (Annette) Brownfield of Salinas; his grandchildren: Lacie (Ryan), Chad, Nicole (Greg), Jenny (Ryan), Ty, Brian and David; Great-grandchildren: Andie, Reagan, Grant, Natalie, Emrie, Gracie and Jaxen.

Cremation will take place and Inurnment will follow at Mission Memorial Park in Seaside, CA June 9. Following inurnment a Celebration of Charles' life will be held at Charles' house.
