<p>It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Walter O. "Shorty" Mason who entered into rest May 28, 2023. </p><p>Mr. Mason, a native of Aiken County was a graduate of Schofield High School. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran. </p><p>Survivors include a son, Walter I. Mason; three daughters, Natalie N. Mason, Brittney L. Mason and Skyla D. Mason; one sister, Verdrey Mason Madzimoyo; four brothers, Frank (Johnny Mae) Waldo, Rev. Kenneth E. (Doris T.) Waldo, Olin Mason and Owen (Mary) Mason; one grandchild, Averii W. Ingram Mason; and a host of other relatives and friends. </p><p>Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, June 3, 2023 at New Beginning Ministries of which Bishop Hezekiah Pressley pastor and Rev. Kenneth E. Waldo eulogist. Interment will be in the Bradley Cemetery. Viewing will be held Friday from 2-5:30 pm at the funeral home. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Professional Services are under the compassionate care of G. L. Brightharp &amp; Sons Mortuary-North Augusta. </p>
