Evangeline Jaschuk Kuss, age 92, of Tucson, Arizona passed away May 29, 2023 with family by her side.

Evangeline was born August 2, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. She was a graduate of St. David’s High School. Evangeline worked for the State of Michigan, the Pharmacy at St. Joseph’s Hospital and a wedding dress shop. She was a member of the Knights of St. John’s Drill Team, loved her Red Wings hockey team, ballroom dancing, festivals, bingo, watching movies and eating tacos……she was a beautiful, social butterfly.

Evangeline married Simon John Jaschuk in Michigan on October 15,1949. They had six daughters and one son, Deborah, Regina, Rochelle, Maureen, Jacqueline, Joseph and Marcia. She was widowed upon Simon John’s passing in November of 1984.

August 18, 2007, Evangeline married Elmer Kuss of St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Thereafter, they moved to Tucson, Arizona where they settled and started a new chapter in their life. She was widowed a 2nd time upon the passing of Elmer in January of 2010.

Evangeline is survived by her children Regina Rudd, Rochelle (Richard) Sarnocinski, Maureen (Jeffrey) Kedroske, Jacqueline (Gregory) Genord, Joseph (Barbara) Jaschuk, and Marcia (Charles) Berenbrock. Twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Evangeline was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Regina Bartkowiak, her brother Joseph (Margaret) Bartkowiak, sister Regina (Lofton) Cox, daughter Deborah & son-in-law Dale Berenbrock and her stepson Rick Elmer Kuss.

The Rosary will be held at Bring’s Funeral Home on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 4:00 pm (will be live streamed – see Webcast of Rosary). A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales, 1375 S. Evangeline will be joining her family in Michigan for a viewing at the Wasik Funeral Home, 11470 13 Mile Road, Warren, Michigan 48093, Tel (810) 751-3131. Date and time to be determined. Evangeline will be laid to rest at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
