<p>Dennis E. Hosgood, Sr., 81, surrounded by his loving family and friends, entered heaven on May 28, 2023 after a long battle with dementia. Beloved husband of the late Patricia A. (nee Jordan). Loving father of Dennis, Jr. (Suzanne), Barbara (Toby) Zalot and Tina (Shawn) Harper. Pop-Pop to Morgan (Alex), Laura, Brandon (Davi), Sarah (Dylan), Michael (Tori), Jordyn, Dennis R., Christopher and Katie. Dear brother of Sandy Gallo, Judy Brock, the late Eileen Seldomridge, the late Marlene West, Tracy Bolen and Susan Blume. Also loved by 6 brothers-in-law, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and long-time companion Marge Waltemate. </p><p>Born on October 21, 1941 to the late Howard Dean and Jean Eleanor (nee Grubb) Hosgood, Dad lived his first two year in Wiconisco, PA before the family moved to Philadelphia to find employment in the factories involved in the war effort. Graduating high school in 1960, Dad moved up his draft and served two years in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division. Marrying Mom on June 6, 1964, they built their life together having three children. Having several jobs through his working career, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He loved the outdoors and was a hunter and fisherman his entire life. His other hobby was his family who he made his greatest priority. His next priority was helping anyone else who asked. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. </p><p>All are welcome to his viewing on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Hollen Funeral Home, Inc., 3160 Grant Avenue (West of Academy Road), Philadelphia, PA 19114.
