Obituary

Angeline Jamison Seroka, age 80, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, May 28th, 2023.

Angel was born on January 14th, 1943 to Frank and Carmella (née Mufale) Landeen in Chicago. She grew up the eldest sister to two younger brothers. As a family, they went boating every weekend they could, meeting relatives, and sharing food and laughter together as a large Italian family. Angel attended Immaculate Conception Preparatory School in Elmhurst from first through twelfth grades, where she met and later married her high school sweetheart, Robert Jamison.

Angel and Robert had two children: a daughter, Kimberly, and a son, Stacy.

A couple of years after her wedding, she became a registered beauty culturist, where her natural talent for connecting easily and personably with people emerged. She loved to design people’s hair because she could “talk to people, use her imagination, and reveal her artistic expression,” which she said once was “like being a painter.” She worked as a beautician for ten years. Then, Angel continued to spread her innate joy and kindness in her thirty-year career at Homemaker’s Furniture Store. At Homemaker’s, she enjoyed meeting different kinds of people. “It was challenging, I liked what I did, and I like talking to people,” Angel recalled once in an interview with her granddaughter, Melissa. When asked what she learned during those thirty years, Angel replied, “You learn to be patient with others. You learn to smooth things over, like with customer service. You must work hard for what you want.” Angel was hard working and dedicated to showing kindness and care in all areas of her life. She was devoted to her friends, her family, and to many others.

Her hobbies included gardening, home decorating, floral arranging, painting, and traveling.

She had a natural artistic talent, a love for detail, and a beautiful aesthetic. She passionately enjoyed using these talents to make her home beautiful and for creating special occasions for family and friends. She always made thoughtful efforts with food and décor to make any occasion truly special.

With every home, she created a beautiful and peaceful sanctuary. She loved incorporating natural elements and details, as appreciating nature was one of her great passions. She said once, “I love the birds and the trees; the sky; sunsets; dusks; little rabbits and chipmunks; and the changing of the seasons. There isn’t anything I don’t like about nature.”

Angel was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Carmella Landeen; her brothers, Frank “Chickie” Landeen, Junior and Dennis “Denny” Landeen; and second husband, Robert Seroka.

She is survived by her first husband of thirty-one years, Robert Jamison, and children Kimberly Jamison and Stacy Jamison; grandchildren Jordan March, Melissa (spouse Erik) March, Leah March, Jessica (spouse Jason) Moravec, Gianna Jamison, and Chase Jamison; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a proud great-grandmother to Landon, Noah, Theodore, and Nathaniel.

Angel was also passionate about her Catholic faith. She had a strong faith in God that guided her throughout her life. She would encourage those closest to her to connect with their faith or spirituality and to be the best version of themselves. She was a kind and generous person who did not hesitate to help others in need. She was an active supporter of many charities and causes, especially those involving children and animals.

There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to her neighbors and friends who were there for her during the final months of her life. She greatly appreciated the love and care she received.

She would love to be remembered with simple, sweet, or fun stories that celebrate what was good and blessed in her life. Please feel welcome to share a memory of her on this Tribute page or privately by contacting Kim Jamison.

Services and interment for Angel are private. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in Summer of 2023. Further details will be announced on this page. Should you feel so inclined, you are welcome to make a memorial contribution in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Angel was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She was so kind-hearted, generous, and thoughtful. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. She made an impact on so many lives. She will be forever missed.
