Obituary

Rosemary Rios, a faithful Christian, passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2023, who was born on August 28, 1964, to Pastor Calistro and Virginia Cavazos in Sinton, TX.

Rosemary grew up mostly in Odem, TX and graduated from Banquete High School in 1982. She went on to marry in 1986 her survived husband Rodolfo “Rudy” Rios. Rosemary is survived by her sisters and in-laws Caroline Galvan (and Roland), Grace Rodriguez (and Dominic); in-laws Emeterio Rios, Jr., Dalia Rios Gomez (and Oscar), Blinda Rios, and Kristi Rios. She is predeceased by her mother Virginia Cavazos and sister-in-law Azalia Martinez Rios.

Rosemary’s hobbies included poultry farming and gardening. She also enjoyed caring for her pet dogs that she had throughout the years, they are Tito, Jasmine, and Luna. Rosemary went on several mission trips to Mexico, volunteered at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Bishop, TX; Primera Iglesia Bautista in Alamogordo, NM; and helped in the recovery in the 1998 Del Rio flood, as well as volunteer on various mission trips stateside.

While Rosemary didn’t like to draw attention to herself, she somehow always captured the hearts and minds of those around her. She always made herself available to anyone, if only just to listen, somehow her cheerful and loving nature drew you in and just like that she gained your love and confidence.

Rosemary’s life was that of a surrendered life to the Lord, a demonstration to us all of what Godly love, humility, kindness, and gentleness looks like.

Let us cherish and celebrate the life of Rosemary Rios by remembering our memories created and honoring her legacy by her example. Her prayer was for everyone to come to Christ in a relationship with the Lord.
