Salvatore D'Alessio, Sr. Obituary

Salvatore D’Alessio (Sr.) 89 left us on May 29, 2023. He was born on September 26, 1933 in Newark New Jersey and attended Saint Lucy’s Catholic school. He married his sister Judy’s best friend Marion Bucci D’Alessio on September 30, 1954 and had three children. He was married for 68 loving years.

He served in the Korean War from 11-17-52 through 11-16-55, where he was honorably discharged.

Salvatore was a union laborer and sheet metal worker for over 30 years, in those 30 years he worked his way up to foreman.

He volunteered his free time as a baseball coach and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Boy Scouts.

He raised his three children in Nutley, New Jersey and then retired to Whiting, New Jersey with his loving wife at the age of 62. He then moved to Toms River where he resided with his wife Marion.

Salvatore loved his family from his children to his great grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family traveling and going to Atlantic City and helping other people.

He was preceded in death by his five sisters and three brothers and parents, Luigi and Fortunata Manzo D’Alessio

Salvatore is survived by his three children Debra Sibilia and her fiancé, Scott Wallis, Joann Heiser and her husband Robert, and Salvatore Junior, his grandchildren are Robert Lessard, IIII (Kari), Lisa Lessard Lubrano (Jerry), Dana Sibilia Hagaman (Cliff), Victor Sibilia (Eva Marie).  Alessandra D’Alessio, Isbella D’Alessio and Salvatore Robert D’Alessio IIIGreat grand-children, Brielle and Brynn Lessard, Jerry and Joseph Lubrano and numerous nieces and nephews that loved him also.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 3:00pm – 7:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday, June 7, 2023 10:00am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp.   Burial to follow at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.  Repass luncheon following immediately interment at Clarion Route 37 West, Toms River, N.J.
