Joseph (Giuseppe) D’Errico, 101, a Johnston resident for 70 years, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023. He was the beloved husband for 62 years and devoted caregiver of the late Lucia “Lucy” (Colagiovanni) D’Errico before her passing in 2010. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Antonio and Chiarina (Russo) D’Errico.

Mr. D’Errico was a steel worker at Tower Iron Works for 28 years and a supervisor at General Dynamics, Electric Boat for 10 years before retiring in 1985. He was a proud WWII Army veteran, serving in General Patton’s 3rd army. He was part of the “D Day 20” and served in the Battle of the Buldge. In 2017, he was part of an Honor Flight. Joe enjoyed wine making, was an avid fisherman, fantastic gardener and as a young man he was a great equestrian.

He was the loving father of Linda Salvato and her husband Thomas, Corrine Pichette and her husband Leo, Susan Gemma and her husband Larry and Deborah DelGreco and her husband Raymond. He was the brother of the late Claire Boichat and Elizabeth Federici. Joe was the proud grandfather of Thomas and Joseph Salvato, Jennifer and Paul D’Ambra, Melissa Willis, Lee Pichette, Nicole Rawnsley, Jessica Singer, Ashley Gemma-Johnson and Caitlyn Gemma. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Torie, Madison, Juliana, Joseph and Isabella Salvato, Kaveh and Ayla Pichette, Jackson, Angelina and Everleigh D’Ambra and Lucia Rawnsley.

Visitation Friday, June 2, 2023, from 8:30-10:30am in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. Graveside burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Johnston.
