Reverend William H. "Bill" Heath Obituary

Reverend William H. "Bill" Heath, a loving and kind man of faith, was called home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2023. Born on March 13, 1937, in Clay County, Alabama, Bill lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to his family, friends, and community.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Glenda Sue Heath, and their two daughters, Cathy Thrift (Ricky) of Lanett, AL, and LaDonna Moss (David) of Prosper, TX. He was a proud grandfather to Jason Barron, Jonathan Barron, Joshua Brown, Sydni Moss, Jackson Moss, and Wil Pike. Bill also leaves behind great-grandchildren Jessica Owens (Andrew), Blake Barron, and Cooper Barron, as well as great-great-grandchild Kasen Owens. His memory will be cherished by several nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Emma Jean Howard, Irene Raughton, and Maudine Hunt; brothers, Clifford Heath, Hilton Heath, Ben Heath, and Byron Heath.

Bill was a hardworking man who dedicated many years of his life to the Dundee Mill in Dadeville, Alabama, before retiring. His true calling, however, was serving the Lord as Pastor for Three Pines Independent Church in Lanett for 17 years. Bill's faith-filled life and unwavering devotion to his congregation made him a pillar of strength and guidance for all who knew him.

A devout Christian, Bill's love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of his life. He found great joy in music, often playing his guitar and singing praises to the Lord. Bill's love for music was infectious, and he was known to bring people together through the power of song.

Bill's interests extended beyond his faith and music. He had a passion for gardening, tending to his plants with the same care and attention he gave to his family and congregation. Bill's love for airplanes was also well-known, and he proudly earned his solo pilot's license, soaring through the skies with the same grace and determination he exhibited in all aspects of his life.

In the spirit of a true southern preacher, Bill's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and faith. He was a beacon of light for all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

As we gather to celebrate the life of Reverend William H. "Bill" Heath, let us remember the love, laughter, and faith he shared with us all. May we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior.
