He is survived by sons, Larry and Gary of Cassville, MO; Matt Anderson of Waco, Justin Scott of Bryan; granddaughter, Mary Birchfield of Cassville, MO; grandson, John Anderson of Cassville, MO; sister, Margy Cooper of Harlingen; and numerous other relatives and many friends.

Ronald attended Meridian schools and graduated in 1951 at the age of 17. He got his parents to sign so he could join the U.S. Airforce early. While in the Airforce he was stationed in Wichita Falls, Fort Worth, OK, TN, VA, CA,
Puerto Rico, Japan and Vietnam. He was the Crew Chief on a C130 and logged over 7000 miles of exemplary flight time. Ronald made many flights in his 21 years but hurricane hunting was his favorite. He attended the hurricane hunters reunion every year until Covid stopped it all. After retiring from the Airforce he owned and operated a Sambo's restaurant for five years. In 1978 he moved back to Meridian buying a place as close to the old home place as he could and there he stayed. He owned and operated the Western Auto in Meridian for many years. You never knew what animal you would encounter when you went to the store. Everything from Fred the lion, Missy and Patty the monkeys, the baby kangaroo, baboons, pot bellied pigs, miniature horses, miniature goats, llamas or one of his dogs. He sold the Western Auto in 1994 but soon found retirement was not for him yet. He opened A+ Loans and Tax Services in 1996 and sold it in 2010. He was ready to retire.
