Howard Funk
<p>Howard Funk of Meadow Creek, BC, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023, at Mountain Lake Seniors Community after a long illness with Parkinson’s disease. Howard was born April 15, 1954, in Mission, BC, the oldest son of Peter and Kay Funk.</p><p>Howard was an avid cyclist and spent many hours riding many miles in the valley. He loved the outdoors - making cedar shake blocks, cutting firewood, picking mushrooms, and pruning trees. He worked many years for Selkirk Wilderness Skiing, from blazing trails in the summer to clearing snow cat trails in the winter. In 2014 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He became a resident at Mountain Lake assisted facility in January 2018. In August of 2020 he was moved into full-time care as his physical abilities deteriorated.</p><p>He was survived by his siblings Janice Neil, Diane DeRosa (Richard), Wendy Sipko (Kevin), Mervin Funk, and many nieces and nephews.</p>Obituary
