Matthew Thomas Flamensfeld, age 35, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, passed away unexpectedly at home Tuesday May 30, 2023.

Matt was born August 14, 1987 at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA. Matthew was a military brat, who moved from Georgia as a baby, to Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany, McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, Incirlik Air Base in Turkey, back to McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, finally settling in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey to finish out school at Egg Harbor Township High School, class of 2006.

After high school, Matt worked various jobs and spent time in both upstate New York and Indiana, before finding his passion in painting and beginning his own painting business. Anyone who knew him recently would agree that he was passionate about helping people make their homes beautiful. And through this business, Matt made many treasured friendships.

Matt had a laugh and a smile that was infectious. He was giving and generous with his friends (of which there are many) and his family. He had a huge heart and would not hesitate to help those he cared for. He loved his wife and his children fiercely and worked hard every day for them. He could often be found in the garage or the backyard working on some project or another, music blasting on his headphones. And who knows what he was listening to – sometimes country, sometimes rock, every now and then there was some hip-hop thrown in for good measure. But there was always music. Matt once said that music made his soul feel calm. Concerts were his happy place.

Matt was so many things to so many people. Husband to his wife; daddy and hero to his kids; baby brother to his sister; big brother to his brother. Son to his parents. Friend to so many. Loved beyond measure. And he will be missed more than we can ever imagine.

Matt is predeceased by his step-father, Gary Silverstein.

Matt is survived by his wife, Audrey (nee Blakesley); his children Lucia (8), Jaxton (4), and Jovie (2), and stepdaughter, Peyton (12); his mother, Donna Silverstein (nee Hitchcock); his father, William T. Flamensfeld; his sister Meredith Primodie (Anthony) and nieces Makayla, Madeline, and Amelia; his brother Colby; as well as many members of extended family and friends.

Services for Matt are Saturday June 3, 2023 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, located at 1650 New Rd, Northfield, NJ 08225, followed by a reception for family and close friends.
