Geraldine Ann (Gerry) Sweet passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Westminster Palms, St. Petersburg.

Daughter of the late Frank and Felicie Barrios and wife of 61 years to Donald J. Sweet, deceased in 2016.

Born in Jacksonville, FL and came to St Petersburg when she was 3 years old. She graduated from St Paul’s School in 1947 and became a registered nurse in 1950 after graduating from St Vincent Hospital in Jacksonville FL. She later worked in surgery at Mercy Hospital in Miami FL for year and then came back to St Petersburg to work for Dr. Grover Austin.

After marrying Donald J. Sweet, they had 3 daughters and two sons; Suzanne (George) MacFarlane, Patricia (Don) Mothena, Donald J. (Jeanie) Sweet, Jr., Missy Ellen (Brenda) Sweet and Allyn Sweet. She is also survived by her three grandsons; Stephen (Lauren) and Conner Mothena and Shawn MacFarlane and two great-grandsons; Maddox and Hudson Mothena.

Gerry held memberships in the Museum of Fine Arts, Stewart Society, St Anthonys Auxiliary, St Petersburg Womens Club and Questers Chapter #602.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 2, 2023, at 10am at St Raphael Catholic Church, 1376 Snell Isle Blvd NE, St Petersburg. Entombment will follow services at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clearwater, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson McQueen Family Tribute Center, St Petersburg.
