Cecilia Franckowiak (nee Rzeszutko), age 94, a resident of Naperville, IL since 2008, formerly of Chicago, Oak Lawn, Homer Glen, IL, Pittsburgh, PA and Burlington, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility in Naperville. She was born May 7, 1922 in Blota, Poland. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Franckowiak, whom she married February 8, 1948, loving mother of Richard (Linda) Franckowiak of Naperville, Edward (Marcia) Franckowiak of West Chicago, IL, adored grandmother of Amy (Patrick) Milz, Laura (Lawrence) Alexander and Steven (Theresa) Franckowiak; Bryan (Grace) Franckowiak, Kevin (Lindsay) Franckowiak and Eric (Lynn) Franckowiak, great-grandmother of Meredith and Rebekah; Mackenzie and Lawrence III; Maximiliano and David, devoted daughter of the late Stanley and Apolonia Rzeszutko, dear sister of the late Thaddeus Rzeszutko, the late Louis (the late Pauline) Rzeszutko, the late Helen (the late Charles) Cwik, the late Edward (the late Lorraine) Rzeszutko, the late Chester (Sally) Rzeszutko and the late Alex (the late Zofia) Rzeszutko, sister-in-law of Jerome Franckowiak, Florence (Edward) Rydzewski, the late Walter (Lottie) Franckowiak and the late Leonard (Jean) Franckowiak, fond aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend of many. Cecilia sailed to the United States on the maiden voyage of the M.S Batory from Poland in May 1936, with the family joining her father who settled in Chicago eight years earlier. A loving and devoted homemaker and devout Catholic, Cecilia was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Naperville. She was also an avid card and BINGO player. Funeral Information Visitation Sunday, January 22, 2017, 2:00-7:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL. Services will begin Monday, January 23, 9:15 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd., Naperville, IL Interment: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
