Charlotte Shorrock

<p>Charlotte Shorrock, 98, of Whiting passed away surrounded by her loving family Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was born and raised in Newark and later moved to Hazlet where she resided for 19 years before moving to Whiting in 1977. She was a parishioner of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. She loved singing in the choir and was an Assistant CCD teacher for 15 years at Saint John’s Church in Lakehurst. She enjoyed gardening and teaching her ceramics as well as making porcelain dolls. She is predeceased by her husband James Shorrock in 1996 and son in law John Hattersley in 2013. She is also predeceased by her brother Thomas Gaynor, Dorothy Gaynor and Marie Brown. Surviving are her daughters, Debra L Hattersley, Sharon L.A. Shorrock, Cheryl L Graf and her husband Tom, Lori A Ashley and her husband Keith, her grandchildren whom she was like a second mother to, Kevin, Jason (Tamara), John Paul Jr “JP” (Laura), Megan (Eric), Tim (Erin), Nathan, Ashley (Ron), Travis (Cara), Ryan (Emily) and Christopher (Kelli). She also leaves behind 17 great grandchildren who adored her. Visitation is Friday 8:30 -10:00 Am at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Friday 10:45 am at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting, interment to follow at Brigadier General William C Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Parkinson’s Foundation.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
