Christopher Russell Angwin Obituary

On May 27, 2023, Christopher Russell Angwin passed away privately at age 52. Born on Nov. 24, 1970, Chris was the first child to Patricia and Russell Angwin and the first grandchild of the greater family. It didn’t take long before Chris got two brothers and many cousins. Chris took to the role of big brother naturally and not just to his brothers. His cousins were his brothers and sisters also.

Chris had many hobbies through his life that were always either in the outdoors or working with his hands. He was always excited to go camping, fishing and hunting. At home, Chris liked woodworking and working with electronics. Chris was never content with the easy methods; he always wanted to learn more advanced techniques. When he started to learn to flyfish, he also took to tying his own flies. When Chris wanted a handheld gaming console, he didn’t buy one, he built one. Probably one of Chris’s greatest passions was riding motorcycles. When he was young, he wanted to learn to race motorcycles. Though injuries slowed him down, they never stopped Chris from riding. Chris also really enjoyed cooking and going to culinary school was a dream of his. He was always up for cooking either a simple meal or a big feast, from scratch. If Chris wanted to make himself a sandwich, he didn’t just grab a couple of slices of bread, he baked the bread first.

Chris finished school at Skyview High School. He worked hard and tried several career paths until he settled on construction and his skills were very apparent on the job. Chris was a very private person who liked to spend time at home working with his numerous hobbies. When he would go out with family and friends, he would amaze people with his vast knowledge of so many things.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Burch; grandparents Russell L. and Wilma Angwin and Jerome and Eileen Zitur; along with three aunts and uncles. He is survived by his father, Russell W. (Judy) Angwin; stepfather Paul Burch; brothers Eric and Jason Angwin; his closest cousin Chad (Shalee) Zitur, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration and remembrance of Chris’s life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 4, at American Legion Post 4, 1540 Broadwater Ave.
