<p>It is with great sadness the family of Louis "Bud" George Kierstead announces his passing on May 28, 2023.&nbsp; Bud was born to the late George and Alice Kierstead in Hardwood Ridge, New Brunswick, on July 23, 1940. </p><p>He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Alice Ellis, and his daughters, Debbie (Stephen Gallagher), of Waasis, NB, and Deciah (John LeBel), of Georgetown, ON.&nbsp; He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Ashley, Blake and Lauren Gallagher, and Victoria LeBel.&nbsp; They will forever be his pride and joy.&nbsp; Bud is also survived by his sisters, Geraldine Blizzard, Linda (Danny Bogle) and his brother Murray Kierstead.&nbsp;Bud was pre-deceased by his grandson, Mason; sisters, Mildred Mannerow; brother-in-law Clancy, Joyce Huskins; brother-in-law Reg, Francis Ogden; brother-in-law Ed; brother-in-law Murray Blizzard and nephews Lionel Thompson, Jeff Blizzard and Brett Kierstead. </p><p>Bud had three loves in his life.&nbsp; His wife Barb with whom he built a foundation of love, trust and companionship that will endure beyond Bud’s physical presence. His family to which he extended his unwavering love and guidance. His legacy lives on through them and their children who carry Bud’s love forward. His community where he was always ready to extend a helping hand and share his genuine care and compassion. Bud will be missed but his joy and kindness will be forever remembered by those he touched. </p><p>On behalf of the Kierstead family, we would like to take this opportunity to give a special thank you to the staff of Cedar House at Loch Lomond Village, especially nurse Kelly who was always available to our family; and friend and nurse Debbie Lynch who helped us make the difficult transition to a care home and provided sound advice and strength when we needed it. Their dedicated service and compassion went above and beyond and our family is so grateful.&nbsp; Also, to all of our family and friends for all of their prayers, love and support. </p><p>Visitation will be held on June 1st, 2023 at Fundy Funeral Home from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 6:00 – 8:00pm.&nbsp; Funeral Services will be held at Fundy Chapel, 230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John, NB, June 2nd, 2023 at 2:00pm with a reception to follow.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada, Loch Lomond Villa or a charity of your choice. </p>
