Edward "Eugene" Brown

Edward Eu(Gene) Brown, age 78, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023 at home surrounded by his close family and friends. Gene retired from Tyson Foods in maintenance after 33 years of service. He loved to hunt, fish, work his bees, and spend time with his family and close friends. He was a member of the Cowboy Church in North Wilkesboro and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #45 in Wilkesboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gurney and Louise Brown; sister, Margaret Bailey, and granddaughter, LaTasha Ann Cubillos.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Virginia Brown of the home; daughters, Gena Cubillos and partner, Harold Cubillos of Federal Way, Washington, Lea Ann Brown and spouse Bobbi Brown of California; step-children, Darleen and spouse Jeff Roten of North Wilkesboro, and Junior Roten of Hamptonville; brothers, Fred Brown of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Don Brown and spouse Gayle of North Wilkesboro; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; very special aunt, Ruby Crawford; several nieces and nephews.

Gene was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by many.

Entombment will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2023 at Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Brian Severt officiating. The family will receive friends at Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel from 1:00 until 2:00 on Friday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wilkes Ministry of H.O.P.E., 514 Elkin Highway, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
