Obituary
Leon Ernest Ford passed away May 23, 2023, peacefully and quietly, at the home of good friends in Letha, Idaho. He was born on April 15, 1945, in Escondido, California to Russel and Helen Hubbard Ford. Leon had older siblings, Marvin and Winifred, and a younger brother Ray.
On June 6, 1959, Leon and his parents were baptized as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Santa Ana Stake.
He graduated from Lathrop Junior High in 1960 and Santa Ana High School in 1963. He wanted to enlist in the Navy after graduation, but was told he needed to come back in ten years due to his asthma. He did and spent time in the Naval Reserves as a builder in the Seabee's.
Leon married and had a son Thomas Russell Ford, who passed away in November of 1970. He remarried and had six children. Leon and his family moved to Carson City, Nevada to raise their children. Leon appreciated and was grateful for his wife, Barbara, the mother of their children. They both raised, supported, and were active in the rearing of their children.
During the 1980’s and 90’s, Leon worked as an electronics manufacturing controller with Recognition Concepts, Inc., in Carson City, Nevada.
Leon moved to Idaho in 2002 with his wife Pat, where they raised and showed dairy goats.
Leon is preceded in death by his wife; Pat, parents; Russel and Helen; son; Thomas; brother, Marvin and sister, Winifred.
He is survived by his children; Mike, Stacy, John, Adam, Brian and Chris; 10 grandchildren and his brother, Ray.
Leon's service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 8343 W. Idaho Blvd in Letha, ID, at 12:00 PM on May 30, 2023. Interment will follow at the Emmett Cemetery. Service arrangements are in the care of the Potter Funeral Chapel, Emmett, ID.
