Gino Cipriano Obituary

CIPRIANO, Gino – It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, uncle and friend Gino Cipriano. After a long battle with cancer, he went peacefully to be with the Lord in the early morning of May 27th, 2023 in his 54th year. He was predeceased by his parents Raffaelo and Michelina Cipriano and his niece Sarah Elizabeth Smith. Dearly loved, he will be deeply missed by his sister Angie Smith (Barry) and brother Tony Cipriano. Cherished Uncle to Andrea Margaret Cooper (Zach), Hannah Marie Smith, Dylan Anthony Cipriano, Rebekah Oriana Smith and Tony’s stepchildren Melissa Lynn Gooder and Andrew Scott Thompson. Often referred to as the “life of the party”, Gino will be missed by many friends, co-workers and extended family. Gino was a hard worker, and his years working at Handling Specialty gave him the opportunity to travel to places like Hawaii, France and Finland for his job. He was always sure to come home with great stories and souvenirs to share with his nieces and nephew. While a hard worker, Gino also knew how to enjoy life. He spent time on his boat and in his sports car, cooking, telling jokes, informing his nieces how to “properly” play monopoly, sending funny videos to family members and quizzing them on impossible-to-solve mathematical equations.

The family will receive their friends at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Friday, June 2nd from 2 – 4 p.m and 6 – 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12 noon until 1 p.m. A service to celebrate Gino’s life will be held in the chapel on Saturday, June 3rd at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow with interment in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Niagara Welland Humane Society https://niagaraspca.com/make-a-donation or Canadaian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
