<p>Darlene Freitag, 68, of Ft. Madison, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 5:48 PM at her home.</p><p>She was born on November 18, 1954, in Maryland, to Curtis L. and June Hickerson Birley, Sr. After her father passed away, she was raised by her Mom and Step Father, John Pollard. On June 6, 2013, she married Stephen Freitag in Ft. Madison. Darlene worked in housekeeping at Great River Medical Center for 19 ½ years. She was a member of Joy Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing.</p><p>Survivors include her husband, Stephen Freitag of Ft. Madison; four sons, Del (Brandy) Luedtke of Kanawha, IA, Curtis Luedtke, Raymond Freitag&nbsp; and David Freitag, all of Ft. Madison; one daughter, Mary Luedtke of Bettendorf; four grandchildren; one sister, Dana (Frank) Carulli of Arizona; two half brothers, Gene Pollard of Alabama, and Ricky Pollard of Massachusetts; one half sister, Lisa Gamble of Alabama; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step father and two brothers, Butch and Cliff.</p><p>The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11 AM at Joy Baptist Church. The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM at the Church. Following the service her body will be cremated and burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.</p><p>A memorial has been established in her memory and online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com</p><p><br><br></p><p></p>
