<p>On May 26, 2023 with great sadness we announce the passing of Margie Dianne Smith Closson. Margie passed at EMMC at age 78 years.</p><p>Although at birth she was named Margie, throughout her adult life Margie went by the name, Marjorie.</p><p>Marjorie was born in Lincoln, Maine on October 8th, 1944 to Leone and Eugene Smith. She was predeceased by two sons: Stephen W. Gilman and Michael J. Gilman.</p><p>Marjorie and Lawrence Closson were married and resided in Bangor for fifty years. While married, Marjorie earned her Bachelor Degree at UMO.</p><p>She graduated with distinction. Following graduation, Marjorie worked at the Department of Human Services as a social worker until her retirement in 2007.</p><p>Marjorie Closson is survived by a sister Judith J. Husson of Dedham, Maine, a brother Eugene C. Smith and wife Cynthia Smith of Myers Town, Pennsylvania, a brother Ronald Littlefield of Sanford, Maine, a sister Ann Mercier of Windham, Maine, a sister in law Brenda Collins of Skowhegan, Maine, a brother in law David Closson of Kenduskeag, Maine, also several nieces and nephews.</p><p>There will be a private service for Marjorie at a later date. Those who wish to remember Marjorie in a special way, may make gifts in her memory to the: Bangor Humane Society 693 Mt. Hope Avenue, Bangor Maine 04401. Love, Chris"</p><p>"When I saw your big beautiful purple - pink - white lilac blooms today, it brought back many fond memories of how much you love puttering in your gardens. I'll think of you now in your Heavenly Garden* judy- loves-margie"</p><p>"My life took a turn today with the loss of my lovely wife, who I will miss terribly. Marjorie supported me till the end. I could not have had a finer partner for the walk of life. Til we meet again, My Love, Larry"</p>
