Dorothy M. Palazzo Obituary

In Loving Memory: Dorothy "Dot" Palazzo

Dorothy "Dot" Palazzo, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, peacefully ascended to heaven surrounded by her loved ones at Little Flower Manor on May 26th, 2023, after a courageous battle with dementia. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her.

Dot was born on February 15th, 1933, to Albert and Sarah Perry, alongside her beloved twin sister, Delores and two older sisters, Rita, and Bessie. Growing up in the vibrant community of South Philadelphia, she found immense joy in spending time with her family, both in South Philly and at the shore. Dot's warm hospitality was best exemplified by her love for baking, as she delighted in preparing scrumptious treats while enjoying the company of others, savoring her coffee and relishing every bite of her cake.

Dot's home was always filled with love and laughter, as she selflessly cared for nearly every child in her extended family. She was the epitome of a devoted caregiver, always offering a helping hand and nurturing spirit. Music held a special place in Dot's heart, and she could often be found singing, dancing, and bringing joy to those around her.

While Dot cherished her role as a mother, her greatest fulfillment came from being a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. The love she poured into her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. Dot's genuine warmth and contagious laughter endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She possessed a heart of gold that radiated kindness and compassion.

Dot was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony Palazzo. She leaves behind a loving family to carry her memory forward. She is survived by her children Linda Grosso (Richard), Joey Palazzo (Joy), Terry Ellensworth (Dennie); grandchildren Gina Ortiz (Angelo), Ricky Grosso, Melanie Pagano (Shawn), Bob Grosso (Deanna), Steven Grosso (Alexandria), Valerie Orlando (Jerry), Krystin Murray (Mike); and great-grandchildren Angelo, Alyssa, Gianna, Shawny, Gabriella, Mackenzie, Ilaria, Ella, and Natalie. Additionally, she will be deeply missed by her loving nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends.

Dot's legacy of love and her indomitable spirit will continue to inspire and guide those she left behind. While her physical presence may be gone, her memory will forever reside in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have shared in her beautiful journey.

A celebration of Dot's life will be held on Friday, June 2nd at Monti-Rago Funeral Home, 2531 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA. Viewing 9 am-11 am followed by mass. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor a remarkable woman who touched so many lives with her unwavering love and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Little Flower Manor, reflecting Dot's passion for giving and caring for others.

Dot Palazzo's laughter, love, and infectious smile will forever be treasured. May her soul find eternal peace as she continues to watch over us, guiding us with her gentle presence.
