Joe Donnell Gulley Obituary

Mr. Joe Donnell Gulley

August 5, 1965 - May 27, 2023

Mr. Joe Gulley, 57, of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away after a lengthy illness on the morning of Saturday, May 27, 2023.  Joe was an independent guy and never met a stranger.  He was the life of the party and seemed to be always the center of attraction.  As far as anyone can tell, he never had an enemy or too many altercations with anybody.  It seems to be unrealistic that nobody disliked one person but that seems to have been the case with him.

Joe was born August 5, 1965 to Ms. Eva Jean Caldwell and the late Mr. William C. Gulley, he was the second child to Ms. Eva Jean so that meant he was the household little brother to Linda and the big brother to Mandy, Marcus and Tyrone.  He was a hardworking young man who had worked as a logger most of his life but in reality he was a jack of all trades.  If you asked he could always do or attempt to do.  There was nothing too big, too small or too degrading or demeaning for him to do, he would do or try anything that would earn him a dollar.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Mr. William C. Gulley and both sets of maternal and paternal grandparents and is survived by his mother, Ms. Eva Jean Caldwell of Stamps, Arkansas, a daughter, Ms. Jackie (Vernon) Joseph of Louisiana.  Two brothers, Mr. Marcus (Vivian) Wyrick of Texarkana, Arkansas and Mr. Akenza (LaTonya) Caldwell of Grand Prairie, Texas.  Four Sisters, Mrs. Linda (Robert) Thomas of Lewisville, Arkansas, Mrs. Amanda (Vince) Carroll of Stamps, Arkansas, Ms. Carolyn Lowe of Texarkana, Arkansas and Ms. Tracy Michelle Gulley of Fort Worth, Texas.  One grandson, Mr. Travon Russ of Louisiana.  Special nieces and nephews, Aleria Wyrick, Austin Wyrick and Kierani Hayden, as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and former co-workers.

His service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2023 where Pastor Frankie Mitchell will serve as Officiant and Eulogist at Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel; 415 East First Street; Stamps, Arkansas 71860 under the direction of the Hamilton-Davis Staff.  There will be a public viewing at the chapel on Friday June 2, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M.  Interment will be immediately following his service at Clevet Springs Cemetery, Arkansas Highway 355 at Nevada Road 136, Buckner, Arkansas

Service will be viewable on our website which is https://www.hamiltondavisfuneralhome.com or on our Hamilton-Davis Facebook page.

Masks are optional but highly recommended for the sake of health and well-being of those who will be around, beside, in front of and behind you.  COVID is still an active virus so please use reasonable social distancing as well.
