<p>Funeral services for Luther "Lil Bud" Arby Carter, Jr., 76, of Monterey, LA will be held at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 12noon with Rev. Tyler Stevison officiating. Interment will follow to Ellard Cemetery in Monterey, LA, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.</p><p><br></p><p>Lil Bud was born on Tuesday, September 24, 1946 in Monterey, LA and passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023 in Monterey, LA surrounded by family who loved him very much. Lil Bud proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a heavy equipment operator, commercial fisherman, and a farmer. Lil Bud was a good man and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.</p><p><br></p><p>He is reunited with his parents, Luther Carter, Sr. and Lola Lorena Carter; son, Arby Dwain Carter; sisters, Shirley Ellard and Frances Moreland; and brother, Richard Carter.</p><p><br></p><p>Those left to cherish Lil Bud's memories are his wife, Dorthy Ann Carter of Monterey, LA; son, Curtis Dean Carter &amp; his wife Donna of Monterey, LA; grandsons, Austin Carter of Knoxville, TN, Austin Reeves of Harrisonburg, LA, and Christian Carter of Crystal Springs, MS; great-grandsons, Grayson Reeves of Monterey, LA, Austin Curtis Reeves of Harrisonburg, LA, and Harlon Ray Reeves of Harrisonburg, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. </p><p><br></p><p>Those honoring Lil Bud as pallbearers will be Austin Reeves, Christian Carter, Jake Townsend, Will Wiley, Doyle Bryan, and Joey Bryan. </p><p><br></p><p>Honorary pallbearers are Austin Carter, Grayson Reeves, Austin Curtis Reeves, Harlon Ray Reeves, Joe Louis, and Earnest Ellis.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to express a special thank you to all the people from Enhabit Hospice.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 10AM until service time at 12noon. </p><p><br></p><p>To leave an online condolence for the family please visit www.youngsfh.com.</p>
