Christine (Chris) Lovett, 75, succumbed May 25, 2023, after a series of arduous health battles. Born on Columbus Day, 1947, to Bernard and Mary (Clark) Lovett, Chris, always an explorer and a traveler, was the third of their four children.

Growing up in the Forest Park neighborhood of Springfield, Massachusetts, Chris attended Holy Name School, Forest Park School, and graduated from the High School of Commerce, going on to a long and successful career at New England Telephone, where she became the first female installer in the region.

Chris maintained close ties with her family and friends from the area, even after her retirement and move to Florida. She loved Saint Petersburg, and was active in numerous organizations, including Saint Pete Pride and Silver Threads.

Chris visited our fiftieth state a dozen times, and loved all things Hawaiian. Carving her own Pahu drums from coconut palms, Chris' talents were widely recognized as the drummer for her beloved Hawaiian Dreamers Hula Group of Saint Petersburg.

Chris was a fiercely independent and passionate person with a heart of gold.

She loved nature, football, music, classic films, animals- from feathered to feline, and was extremely generous and supportive, deeply concerned with human rights, freedom, and justice.

In addition to her parents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives, Chris was predeceased by her brother, First Lt. Bernard J. Lovett, Jr., KIA Vietnam, 10/16/70.

Left to cherish Chris' memory are her sister, Mary Anne (Lovett) Phaneuf, and her husband, Jim Phaneuf, nieces Colleen Brown and Julie Hausmann, and grandniece Heidi Hausmann, as well as sister Karen Lovett-McDonald, and her husband, Fred McDonald.

Everyone should be as lucky as Chris to have had a friend like Paula Clark, who for more than forty years, has always gone above and beyond and been there through thick and thin for her buddy. We love you and thank you, Dear Paula.

According to Chris' wishes, her funeral and cremation will be private.
