In Loving Memory of Pat Alan Atkins

February 7, 1945 - May 25, 2023

On May 25, 2023, our hearts were filled with sorrow as we said goodbye to Pat Alan Atkins.  Better known in his later years as Pappy, he was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  Pat was born on February 7, 1945, to James Horace Atkins and Jewell Willine Green Atkins in Hearne, Texas.  He was a proud graduate of Milby High School and later earned his degree from the University of Houston.

He is survived by his sons, Alan and Scott, their spouses, Jennifer and Aimee, and his grandchildren, Ashley, Blake, Reagan, Austin, and Xyla. Pat will be forever missed by his sister, Betsy Miller, and brother, Kenneth Atkins.

Pat loved fishing, traveling to casinos in Las Vegas, and supporting his Houston sports teams.  He rarely missed a chance to watch his Astros and enjoyed the success that they experienced over the last few years.  Pat will be remembered for his quick wit, and his love of movies, trivia games, and Chinese food.

The family will be hosting an informal celebration of Pat’s life:

Friday, June 2nd from 2pm – 5pm.

9439 Harmony Lake Lane

Richmond, TX  77469

Astros attire is encouraged!!

As we say goodbye to Pappy, let us find solace in the knowledge that he is now at peace-forever fishing on calm waters, and cheering on his Astros from the best seats in the house.
