David Richard Borton passed away peacefully on May 24, 2023, at Ohio Living Cape May, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. 

Dave was born January 20, 1951 to Arthur and Betty Zimmerman Borton. He grew up in Wilmington, graduating from Wilmington High School in the class of 1969. During his high school years he was the drummer in a local rock band, The Romers, who played at various venues in southwest Ohio. He graduated from Ohio University in 1973 and worked for the Jack Shine Company of Akron, Ohio as a manufacture’s rep for many years. Later in life, he was a driver for Dash Logistics in Wilmington. 

Dave was a compassionate, sweet and gentle person who was deeply loved by his family and many friends. His passions in life, besides family, were music, fishing and dogs, especially his golden retreivers, Bo and Ty. 

He is survived by daughter, Sarah Jayne Borton Hennessey of Maineville, a son Greg (Amy) Pond grand-daughters, Sadie and Mia, all of Denver, Colorado and Ali Pond Beam of Wilmington. Also a sister, Cindy  Camp of Wilmington and brother Brett (Sara) Borton of Bluffton, South Carolina. Nephews include, Brad Borton of Orlando, Florida and Jarrett, Evan and Ian Borton with great niece Ariana Borton, all of Bluffton, South Carolina.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
