Raymond M. Delamarter Obituary

Raymond M. Delamater, 52, of Starlight, PA, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023 after an illness. He was born on February 17, 1971 in Hancock, NY, the son of Ralph Sr. and Jean (Stilson) Delamarter.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Delamarter; beautiful daughters, that meant the world to him: Lindsey, Hannah, Charlotte, and Kourtney; bonus daughters, September Andersen and Emma Mead; three other children: Katie, Emily, and Kyle; 1 brother, Ralph Jr. (Lori) Delamarter; 2 sisters, Rhonda Butler and Bonnie Millon; father in law, Howard Whitmore; brother in law, Chad Whitmore; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by both his parents, 3 sisters: Donna, Helen, and Linda; mother in law, Phyllis Whitmore; and a nephew, David (Skeeter) Delamarter.

To many he was known as Raydar. He was a mechanic at Lakewood Garage and a member of Scott Rod and Gun Club. Ray loved hunting with his daughter, Lindsey, and riding his side by side with his wife and daughters. Ray had a sense of humor that no one will forget. Ray had many friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand. “Going to drink some beers with the boys,” as Ray would say, with a can of High Life in one hand and a can of Copenhagen in his back pocket. That was his signature look.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 11AM-1PM followed by a memorial service at 1PM all at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the Northern Wayne Fire Hall, Lakewood, PA.
