OBITUARY

Hannah S. Green, 94. Daughter of the late Stephen Green, Sr. and Francis Dillon Green, departed this life on Monday, May 22, 2023 at home, 28 E. Chestnut St., Bordentown, New Jersey. Hannah was born August 25, 2023 on the same property she transitioned from.

Hannah was baptized as an infant at Mt. Zion AME Church, Bordentown, New Jersey where as a youth she attended Sunday School, sang in the youth choir, where she also served on the Stewardess Board.

Hannah was educated in the Bordentown School system. She attended kindergarten and first grade at the school on the corner of Borden and Burlington Street where she was taught by Marie Watkins. She then attended school which was known as the No. 2 School where only black children attended. She attended High School which we now know as William McFarland Intermediate School. She also attended Berean Vocational College for Business in Philadelphia, PA.

Hannah’s work experience covered several jobs. She was employed at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital then going to Trenton Psychiatric Hospital where there she was transferred to the Vroom Building as a forensic nurse where she retired from. She also did private duty work along with her mother and sister.

If you knew Hannah Green you know she loved being outside, you might see her on her John Deere riding lawn mower and gardening. She traveled to Europe to visit her niece and nephew. She also went on a cruise to the islands. She also would go to North Carolina to visit her nephew. She loved sitting on the front porch and talking to people. She kept her yard up until she couldn’t do it no more, but her yard was her pride & joy. Hannah played softball and loved playing. Hannah loved putting 1000 piece puzzled together and if you were visiting she would try to get you to take one.

Hannah also predeceased by her three brothers Stephen Green Jr., Harry P. Green, Sr. and William Green and her only sister Althea Williams. She is survived by one hundred plus nieces and nephews.
