On May 25th, 2023 Darin Cantrell passed away at the age of 58. Darin was born to Bill and Jean Cantrell and was the youngest of their six children. In his younger years, he grew up in the funeral homes of Clever and Republic owned by his father. He moved to Republic from Clever to play football which he loved very much, along with basketball and track. He has three daughters and almost always coached their basketball and softball teams, along with many of his daughters’ friends. He was known to be a little on the competitive side both as a player and a coach.

Darin resided in Republic, Missouri and was a collector of many things such as Hot Wheels, coins, and stamps. He was a faithful Kansas City Chiefs, NASCAR, and MIZZOU Tigers fan. If you were to visit his home you would find hummingbird feeders that he kept filled and hear the sounds of wind chimes that were hanging everywhere. He was always so proud of his daughters and grandkids and was willing to show them off to anyone who would listen and always had photos at the ready. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Darin left behind his eldest daughter Brittany Fuller, with Valerie (Culley) Larson, and her husband Ross Fuller along with their two sons Sebastian “Bash” and Lincoln; and with Patti (Crabb) Cantrell, his wife of 28 years, their daughters Morgan McDavid and her husband Matthew and daughter Magnolia; and Addison Cantrell and her fiancé Yan Zheng. Darin’s siblings are Gilda Martin, Pam Blades, Jim Cantrell, Nancy White, and Ed Cantrell, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Darin is going to be greatly missed but we are thankful he is at peace now. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 3rd from 12:00 to 2:00 at Hood United Methodist Church in Republic with a Celebration of Life to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Barnabas.
