Bobby Devon Williams, Jr.

Bobby Devon Williams, Jr., 66, passed away, peacefully in his sleep from cardiac arrest, on Monday, May 22, 2023.<br> <br>A graveside service will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.<br> <br>Born on February 26, 1957 in Robeson County, he was the son of the late Bobby Devon Williams, Sr. and Marjorie West Williams. Bobby was from Lumberton, but lived most of his life in Concord, NC. He was a man of God who loved to attend church and serve as a volunteer. He was an avid cat lover, and rescued every cat that he could. His cats were his family and he put them before himself, each and every day. <br>Bobby was the President of his HOA of his neighborhood for a number of years before resigning and allowing another member to fulfill that position. His favorite pastime activities included, fishing going to the movies, tending to his lawn and cars, eating out, researching his family history, and spending time with his kids. <br> <br>Bobby was an only child. When he grew up, he became a police officer, had three children, and continued to pursue his career into greater depths. After retiring due to being injured on the job, he still liked to think of himself as an active duty police officer up until the day of his passing. <br> <br>He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Von Williams of Evergreen, NC, Ryan Taylor Williams of Kannapolis, NC, and Rachel Renee Luther (Glenn Thomas) of Anchorage, AK. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his Grandfather, Bobby Devon Williams, Sr., and his grandmother, Annie Kinlaw West.<br> <br>Services entrusted to Boles-Biggs Funeral Home of Lumberton.<br><br>

I am shocked and saddened to hear of my neighbors passing. I appreciate all of Bobby's efforts while serving on our HOA board. Ryan and Rachel you are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Bobby

What can we say about Bobby? He was an interesting “character”. He worked tirelessly to save this neighborhood from the disaster looming in front of it. Without his disclosure we might still be in the dark about the condition of the sewer plant.
