Carol Ann Lily Walrath Obituary

On January 7th, 1944 Carol Anne Lillian Potter was born in Queens, NY to Harry and Celia Potter. She had a tumultuous childhood, as was much of her life. She was very close to her sister, Gloria, and the tragedy of her two nephews dying in a house fire at a young age had a life-long effect on Carol.

She was married to Robert Allen, and then to John Day. She had six children and a step-daughter. She then married her third husband, Ryan C. Walrath, and they had 38 years together. She was a bartender for many years in the Chatanika Lodge, Old Ft. Company, The Eagles, American Legion, and the VFW.

She had many medical issues over the last 15 years. She had a strong spirit and fought through many surgeries and constant pain to try and enjoy life. She loved to travel, especially to see family. Many of her happiest times were spending time with or talking to her many grandchildren.

One day, she went to the rescue shelter with her daughter, Karen, and granddaughter, Lily. She brought home a dog who Lily named Charlie, he changed our lives forever.

She was a devout Jehovah’s Witness and really enjoyed the Sunday and Tuesday meetings, and her one-on-one bible studies each week. She also loved when her daughter Mary called her every night to read her the daily scripture.

Special thanks to Jason and Sasha, and her friend Gloria.

On March 22, 2023, at home with family, she went to sleep awaiting her resurrection to a paradise on Earth.

She is survived by her children; Mary (Ernesto Sr.) Escalante, William (Lisa) Allen, Karen Daley, Cliff Allen, Robin Allen, Robert (Angelia) Allen Jr., Step-children; Wendy Allen, Michael C. (Fon) Walrath, and Heather (Joh) Greber, Grandchildren; Ernesto Jr., Antonia, Lillian, Thomas, Samantha, Sarah, Mason, Jacob, Caleb, Devon, Deyon, George, Gerald, Clifford Jr. Natalie, Vanessa, Brandon, Jesse, Nicole, Michelle, Michael, Andrew, Brittany, Chriss, Cassidy, ERT, Robbie, Ryan, Silver,  Seskia, and Freyja, And 28 Great-grandchildren.

Carol’s funeral service will be held on June 3rd at 3pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 1247 Old Steese Highway.
