Mr. Lester S. Daniels was born in Danville, Virginia to the late Lera Gwen Daniels August 6,

1951, he was her only child. They later relocated to Richmond Virginia, where he attended

Richmond Public Schools. Lester graduated from Armstrong High School in 1969; afterwards,

at Fountain Baptist Church; also he was a member of Deacons’ Conference of Richmond and

Vicinity. Lester was a dedicated member in good standing of Fountain Baptist Church until he

could no longer attend due to his many health issues.

Lester worked for the Richmond Public Schools System as a Bus Driver, which is where he met

his friend and wife, of 34 years, Mary. Also, Lester worked at Dupont as a machine operator

until he had to retire early due to his many health issues. Some of Lester’s hobbies included

bowling, tennis and golf.

Lester loved to be with his family, especially the young children. He would light up like a

Christmas tree when his grandchildren, great grand, and nieces would visit him. It was really the

only time he would smile as his dementia progressed. Before his many health issues took over

Lester loved to dance and have a good time with his friends and wife to be.

Mr. Lester S. Daniels was preceded in death by his mother, Lera Gwen Daniels. He leaves to

cherish is memories, his devoted wife Mary, step-son, James Brown, (Joann), step daughter,

Margaret Brown, step grandsons, Keyone Green, James-Anthony(Breanna) and Justin Brown,

step great grand-daughter, Taylor Burris, and step great grandson Jayce Brown, Sister in law,

Dorothy James, and brother in law Allen Stuckey(Yvonne), and a host of other relatives and

friends, six of whom were devoted; Herman Yates, David Wilson, Deacon Flossie Royal,

Deaconess Elizabeth Kriven, Deacon Dr. Drake, and Deacon Carolyn Curry.

The family of the late Lester S. Daniels wishes to take this opportunity to express our deepest and most sincere gratitude for the many expressions of love and compassion shown to us during our time of bereavement. We have been blessed with the love and friendship of so many and we Thank You with all our heart. We love you and the support you all have offered has been greatly appreciated. We especially want to acknowledge the staff of Gentiva Hospice. They were

there with us every step of the way when we needed help the most. Their staff was very professional, concern and caring, without their support we could not have kept him home as long as we did. Also, we would like to acknowledge the staff of Assisting Hands and Loving Care Home, Assisting Living; they took very good care of him.

The Creator and Ancestors with whom Lester is now among will also bless you all.

Repast will follow after the Celebration at Forest Lawn Cemetery at the Fountain Baptist Church.
