Dorothy June Stutzman Obituary

Dorothy June Stutzman, 92, of Taneytown, MD, passed away, Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Cross Keys Village in New Oxford, PA.


Born Tuesday, November 25, 1930 in Bel Air, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late James Booher and the late Roxie (Mitchell) Booher.


June grew up outside of Union Bridge, MD, graduating from Elmer Wolfe High School at the age of 16 and the following year graduating from Westminster High School. June was an LPN, starting her career at the State Mental Hospital in Harrisburg, PA. She then worked at Gold Age Nursing in Hanover, PA and retired from Westminster Nursing Home. June attended Union Bridge Church of the Brethren and hosted many Bible Study groups at her home. She enjoyed square dancing and line dancing with the Senior Citizens Groups. Family was the most important part of June's life and she cherished the times she spent with her entire family.


She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Lyle Wade Stutzman; children, Margie Legg and husband Tom of Keymar, MD, Lois McCrystal and husband Dave of Gordonsville, VA, David Stutzman and wife Linda of Boonsboro, MD, and Mary Ellen Green and husband Art of Littlestown, PA; sisters, Kathleen "Kitty" Cheeks of Fairfield, PA and Alice Sellers of Parkton, MD; brother-in-law, Richard Hollinger of Mechanicsburg, PA; sister-in-law, Marjorie Stutzman of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Marie Boyle, Valarie Legg, Molly Wilshere, Andy Stutzman, Kate Coles, Isaac Stutzman, Kyle Green, Janey Breighner, Mike Zaffaroni, Scott Zaffaroni, and Katie Zaffaroni Suter; and seventeen great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Booher.


A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 23, 2023, in the Nicary Chapel at Cross Keys, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, Pa 17350.


Interment was held at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Uniontown, MD.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Union Bridge Church of the Brethren.
