Carol Joyce Dickinson Obituary

Carol Joyce Dickinson, age 71, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away at 6:30 p.m., May 22, 2023, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.


Carol was born in Carrollton, Missouri, on February 8, 1952, to parents Harold Baker and Artie Verlea (Bachtel) Dickinson. She graduated with the Carrolton High School Class of 1970 and then enrolled at CMSU (Central Missouri State University) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Music/B.M.


In 1981 in Florida, Carol was united into marriage to Melvin Dennis Pink, and this union was blessed with two daughters, Melissa and Christie.


Carol was a music teacher in Carrollton from 1990 to 1999, and she also taught Music in Bosworth for a few more years thereafter. In addition, she held the City Clerk position in Carrollton and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Carol loved to read and was avid at crocheting and sewing. She loved her church family and neighbors and especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren and cats. She enjoyed riding horses, fishing, and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks. Carol's daily enjoyment was the love of Music as it surrounded her entire life. She enjoyed all the years of teaching and made an impact on several students. "Where Words Fail, Music Speaks," and she felt it was of the utmost importance to keep Music as part of the curriculum. She also played the piano and organ for several churches in Carrollton.


Carol is survived by two daughters, Melissa Pink Cannon and her husband Michael of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and Christie Pink of St. Louis, Missouri, and two grandchildren, Adam Boatman of Carrollton and Liam Doherty of Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
