Doris M. Woelfel Obituary

Doris M. Woelfel, 90, passed away at her home on Thursday, May 25, 2023 with her family by her side following a lengthy illness.
She was born on February 12, 1933 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Joseph and Loretta Eckert Wolfe.
On August 30, 1952, she married the late Wray H. "Lucky" Woelfel, who preceded her in death on September 23, 1993. Together they shared more than 40 years of marriage.
Doris was a lifelong member of Queen of the World Church, and was also active with the Rosary Altar Society and the St. Ann's Society. She loved playing cards and cherished her family more than anything. Her grandchildren were the light and love of her life. Doris loved cooking, canning, and baking. She will be fondly remembered as a loving, kind, and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.
Doris is survived by her six children; Kenneth (Ann) Woelfel of St. Marys, Robert (Judy) Woelfel of Kersey, Deborah (James) Dellaquila of St. Marys, Donna (John) Gerber of St. Marys, Nancy (Duane) Bucher of St. Marys and Janice Woelfel of St. Marys; along with a close family friend, Linda Friedl of St. Marys, as well as by her 16 beloved grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers; David Wolfe and James Wolfe, both of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Woelfel in 2006, four brothers; Joseph, Vincent, Alvin, and Dennis Wolfe, and by two sisters; Rose Anne Mahovlich and Jeanne Brem.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Doris M. Woelfel will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, as Celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Queen of the World Church or to the Community Nurses.
