Jani Leah Young

Jani Leah Janis Young, age 66 of Altus, OK passed away on May 23, 2023 as a result of<br />an automobile accident. Jani was born April 24, 1957 in Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri<br />to parents Forrest Lee Janis and Joyce Peden Janis Ward. Jani graduated from Snyder<br />High School in 1975. She married Scott Young on September 2, 1990. Jani had a deep<br />love for her husband, Scott, and has been his caretaker for the last 25 years. Their<br />fondest memories together were their countless roadtrips on Scott's motorcycle.<br />Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye and she always made sure they knew<br />that. Jani was the family historian, photographer, and had an amazing memory. She<br />was a hard worker who had a passion for bingo and she adored the friends she<br />made doing so. Jani was so full of energy that she almost never sat down. She used<br />this energy for many things such as quilting and substituting at Navajo Public<br />Schools, where she opened her heart and her door to anyone who needed it. Most of<br />all she had a selfless nature and treated anyone like her own. She was the person<br />you always needed around even if you didn't realize it. She left an impact on every<br />person she ever interacted with and will be severely missed.<br />Jani is survived by her husband Scott and three children: Kristi Young of Altus, OK;<br />Justin and Daana Young of Panama City Beach, Florida; Shannon Young Anderson<br />and spouse Wil of Stillwater, OK; Also her Grandchildren: Dakota Young of the<br />home; Mason and Khloe of Panama City Beach, Florida; Ethan and Matti of<br />Stillwater, OK.<br /><br />Jani is also survived by her siblings Paul (Vaughn) Janis and spouse Glenna, Judy<br />Lance and spouse Steve , Harry (Dwayne) Janis and spouse Sheri all of Altus,<br />Oklahoma; Tamra Phelan and spouse John of Mountain Park, Oklahoma; James<br />(Jesse) Janis and spouse Natalie of Lawton, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Leander<br />Thacker of Richardson, Texas; brother-in-law Mike Young and spouse Cathy; niece<br />Heather Young Jones and spouse Jeffrey of Zebulon, NC, niece Amy Carter and her<br />children, Ben and Caleb, of Barboursville, WV; her 114 nieces, nephews, great<br />nieces, and great nephews; and cousin Mike Munn of Altus, OK.<br /><br />She is preceded in death by a much-loved brother and sister, Forrest (Butch) Lee<br />Janis, Jr. (d. Dec. 1968) and Teresa Mae Janis Thacker (d. Mar 2014), her parents<br />Forrest Lee Janis and Joyce Peden Janis Ward; her mother-in-law Doris Young; and<br />brother-in-law Dana Young.<br /><br />Memorial Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday May 30, 2023, under the<br />direction of Lowell- Tims Funeral Home, Altus, OK.<br />

Jani Leah Janis Young, age 66 of Altus, OK passed away on May 23, 2023 as a result of

to parents Forrest Lee Janis and Joyce Peden Janis Ward. Jani graduated from Snyder
