Florandia "Rennie" Adams Obituary

Florandia Adams was born July 8, 1954, to the late Clifton Sudler and Helen Cale Gibson in Dover, DE.  She passed away peacefully at Westminster Village surrounded by her family on May 23, 2023.

Florandia spent her early childhood in Dover, DE, attending Capitol School District.  Being raised on Waters Street and reared in Union Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. J.H. Williams, Florandia grew into an awesome young lady.

She began working at Papen Farms, followed by the Delaware Home and Hospital, and eventually began working at Playtex.  Florandia eventually became a homemaker, known to the neighborhood and family as Ms. Rennie.

Rennie, as she was called, loved her family, children and oh my, those grandchildren to life!  She also loved Dover Downs Casino.

Rennie loved family gatherings and barbeques.  The family waited for her to show up with those deviled eggs and the gathering was complete.

Rennie was married to Irving Adams and became a faithful member of the Upper Room, under the leadership of Michael T. Scott for a tenure, then joined Grace and Mercy Temple of Praise, under the leadership of Dr. Lynn Franklin.  She ended her church fellowship at Greater Life Christian Church with Pastor Donald Ashley until her health began to fail.

Florandia was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Sudler, mother, Helen Gibson, sons Javan Cale and William Cale and sister Delemia Daniels.

She is survived by her two daughters Tina Ashley (Donald), and Dorray Cale; four grandchildren, Donya Ashley, Denira Cale, Damiya Pettyjohn and Deontre Cale; six great grandchildren, Deneaja Cale, Tyvon Tolson, Jahmari Cale, Isaac Ashley, Shine Cale Gourdine and Tahj Cale Gourdine; sister, Doroeatha Cale; brother, Wilmer Gibson, Jr.; sister, Brandi Sudler; brother, Clifton Sudler, Jr. ; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and two aunts, Alberta Scott and Dorothy Cale.

A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Greater Life Christian Church, 240 Headstart Lane, Dover, DE  19901 where there will be a viewing from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.
