Corretta Alexander Simmons, 94, went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2023. Corretta was born in Norfolk, Virginia. She was preceded by her beloved husband of 70 years, George Leonard Simmons. She retired from ATandT and was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church in South Norfolk.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ernie Simmons (Rita), George "Cotton" Simmons (Andrea), and Harvey Simmons (Debbie); granddaughters, Denise (Chris), Lisa, Ashley, and Courtney (Justin); grandsons, Patrick (Mary) and Tyler (Megan); great-granddaughters, Elaina, Emma, Emerson and Harper; great-grandsons, Grayson, Haiden and Easton; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kemspville Rd. Chesapeake, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 10-11am. A service to celebrate her life will follow beginning promptly at 11am. There will be a light reception to follow in the reception center prior to burial in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk.
