<p>James David Evans, 81, entered into rest on Thursday, May 25, 2023.</p><p><br></p><p>David was born on August 26, 1941, in Macon, Georgia to the late Willie James and Thelma Evans. He was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he worked for Warner Robins Police Department doing security detail in the early 80s. He loved working on cars and built transmissions for Blue Bird buses. He was a devoted father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, David was proceeded in death by his wife, Marjorie Evans.</p><p><br></p><p>David’s memory will forever be treasured by his children, Scott Evans (Jennifer) of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Shawn Evans (Shelly) of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren, Jared Evans, Ashtyn Evans, Kayla Evans, Dalton Evans, Caleb Cooper and Seth Cooper; and sisters, Linda Keller of Louisiana and Sandra Kopp of Florida.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Afterward, David will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery with military honors.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of David Evans to OpusCare Hospice at 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon, GA 31210 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.</p><p><br></p><p>Go to www.mcculloughfh.com to sign the Online Registry for the family.
