Freeland, Carolyn Jean (Hill)  9/03/1938 - 5/25/2023

Carolyn Jean Freeland, age 84, passed away with family by her side on Thursday, May 25, 2023.

She was born September 3, 1938 in Kent City, Michigan.  She graduated from Kent City Schools in 1956.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilbert and Ruby Hill; her brothers and sisters, Ransom Hill, Roger and Mary Hill, Robert (Bob) Hill, Marilyn Hill; her grandson, Kelby Hunter Freeland; and her husband of 57 years, Roger L Freeland.

Carolyn worked for many years for National Fruit in Kent City and retired from Meijer Warehouse.  She was an avid baker and cook.  She enjoyed family gatherings and visits from grandchildren and great grandchildren always brightened her day.  

She is survived by her children, Stacy and Mark Jones, Calvin Freeland, Kelly and Nate Gibson, Kreigh and Dawn Freeland, Travis and Angie Freeland; grandchildren, Blake (Kelly) Mallory, Ashley (Tim) Sugiyama, Brittany Gibson, Korey Freeland, Kasey (Brittani) Freeland, Bailey (Cliff) Freeland and Chase (Kate) Freeland; step-grandchildren, Cameron (Kali) Jones, Lauren (Corey) Broschak; great grandchildren, Emmerson, Piper, Hollis, Easton, Beckett, Lilly, Karter, Hudson; sisters-in-law, Luanne Hill, Arlene Hill, and Nancy Freeland; several nieces and nephews and many close friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the Casnovia Old School Community Center (142 N Main Street in Casnovia) on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 6-8 pm.
