Arlene D. Amo Obituary

In Loving Memory of Arlene Amo

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Arlene Amo, passed away peacefully at home on May 21st, 2023, at the age of 75 in her hometown of Tampa, FL. She was born to Joseph and Hortense Demmi and is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Eddie Amo, her cherished sons EJ (Mandy) and Michael, her brother Joe Demmi and sister-in-law Paula Shiflett, her beloved grandchildren Lara and James, and her great-grandchildren Charlie and Maddie.

Arlene's educational journey began after graduating from Jefferson High School when she pursued her Bachelor's in Education from USF. Later, she went back to school and completed her Masters in Education. For 44 years, she passionately shared her love for learning, impacting the lives of countless children and colleagues. Additionally, she actively participated in various non-profit groups, embodying her dedication to giving back to the community.

Known for her vibrant spirit and joy for life, Arlene had a remarkable ability to light up any room she entered. Her zest for life was contagious, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. At home, she nurtured an environment filled with laughter and cherished memories. Arlene's kindness extended beyond her immediate family, as she selflessly reached out to help those in need. Her compassion even extended to the animal kingdom, as she tirelessly rescued and cared for every creature in her neighborhood, inspiring others to do the same.

Although Arlene is no longer with us, her memory will forever remain in our hearts. We will always treasure the lessons she taught us and strive to embody her kindness and compassion. Her love and radiant smile will be greatly missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire us. May she rest in peace, knowing she made a profound difference in our lives.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Arlene's remarkable life on June 11th, 2023, at Centro Asturiano de Tampa from 2-5pm. In lieu of flowers, we kindly request considering a donation to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay in her honor, as it reflects her deep care and passion for animals.

"With a heart full of love, she blessed our lives. In our memories, she will forever thrive."
