Douglas Alan Lay, age 67, went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2023. He was a resident of Powell and had attended Wallace Memorial Baptist Church from childhood. He had worked with his family at Handy Dandy Food Market and Handy Dandy Car Wash.

Doug adored his parents and was devoted to his sons. He had a big heart and a sweet personality. Doug loved to share puns, play his guitars, enjoyed photography, and had a deep interest in history and current events. He had a wealth of knowledge about classic cars and enjoyed owning several of them over the years. Doug had a phenomenal memory of his favorite 60s and 70s music and an appreciation of movies, especially science fiction and film noir.

Preceded in death by his beloved sons Matthew Lay and Jonathan Lay; parents Elbert Lay and Carrie Marie Lay. Doug is survived by brother Steve Lay and wife Sonya; cousin David Keck and his wife Jackie; special friend Jan Greene; several cousins, nieces, great nieces and great nephews.
