Mrs. Elise Cody Wright

Mrs. Elise Cody Wright gained her heavenly wings on May 26, 2023 while at her residence in Thomson, GA. She was born on Tuesday, August 12, 1941 in Warrenton (Warren County), GA to the late Beatrice Hawkins Cody and the late Allen Cody.

Elise joined the Cody Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Warrenton, GA at an early age. During her working years, she was gainfully employed with the former Uniroyal Plant of Thomson, GA until its closing.

Our beloved Elise was a mother to all and was loved by many. She enjoyed fishing, picking peas and corn. She had a passion for cooking and feeding whoever came to her home. Elise was a woman of God. She loved her family and her church family dearly.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Wright, Sr. and a sister, Louise Brinson. Left to cherish her most precious of memories: two loving daughters, Betty Cody and Josephine (Johnny) Clark, all of Thomson, GA; three loving sons, Henry Lee, Jr. (Cheryl) Wright, Bobby (Evon) Wright and Michael (Brenda) Wright, all of Thomson, GA; one granddaughter raised as her daughter, Denise Cody (Keith) of Thomson, GA; fifteen additional grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lula Ann Simpson, Mary Elizabeth Simpson, both of North Carolina and Willie Mae Crowder of Thomson, GA; one brother, Willie (Carrie) Cody of Augusta, GA; a godson, James (Trisha) Farr of Thomson, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and additional love ones.
