Michael B. McConnell, 75, of Scranton died Thursday at the Geisinger C.M.C. following a brief illness. His fiancée of 35 years is Karen Roberts.

Born in Scranton he was the son of the late Thomas and Olive Gilpin McConell. A graduate of Falls Overfield High School, he proudly served in the United States Army where he served two tours in Vietnam. Prior to retirement he was employed by Dickson City Hyundai. Mike was a man of strong faith and was a devoted member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Also surviving are step-son Jamie Roberts, Arizona; nephew Robert Hartman, Scranton.

He was preceded in death by sister Kathryn Ann Hartman; brother Thomas J. McConnell Jr.

The funeral will be conducted on Thursday with Divine Liturgy at 11 am in St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, 430 N. 7th Ave., Scranton. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects Thursday from 10 am until time of service in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, 430 N. 7th Ave., Scranton, PA 18503.
