Suddenly at the Ottawa Heart Institute on May 24th, 2023, at 67 years. Steve is survived by partner Janet Sutcliffe, his two daughters Jaime McDougall and Allie Lawlor, son-in-law Cody Lawlor and mother of his daughters Kelly McDougall. Also survived by siblings JoAnne Fournell, Bob McDougall (Lupe), Louise Hunter (Ron), Helen McCartney, David McDougall (Donna), John McDougall (Terry), and Gerry Tutecky-McDougall (Dawn). Predeceased by his parents Edgar and Rose McDougall along with siblings Mary Raphael and James "Jimmy" McDougall. Steve is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He will be fondly remembered as an avid sports fan, specifically the Raiders, Blackhawks, Red Sox, and Brockville Braves.

At the request of Steve, there will be no service but a celebration of life at the family cottage will take place at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association. Arrangements are entrusted to Barclay Funeral Home 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville.
