Bonnie J. Armstrong Obituary

Bonnie J. (Evans) Armstrong passed away peacefully at her home in Marianna on Friday, May 26, 2023, surrounded by the love of family & friends.

Bonnie was born in Steubenville, Ohio on March 3, 1961. The fifth of eight children born to William & Della Evans. When she was a toddler, the family moved to Pompano Beach in the Bonnie Loch subdivision. Bonnie was a student at Tedder Elementary, Crystal Lake Middle School and then Deerfield Beach High School where she graduated in 1979. She continued her education at Broward Community College and later, Florida Atlantic University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a major in accounting.

She met her beloved husband, Scott Armstrong when she was 16, though they didn’t start dating until 1981. Scott and Bonnie were married in West Palm Beach Florida in 1984 and blessed with the birth of their only child, Amber L. Armstrong in 1985. They bought a house in the Cresthaven neighborhood in Pompano where they made a home and were close to family and friends. When her family members began their migration to the Florida panhandle (primarily Jackson County) around 1996, Scott & Bonnie decided to follow them to the area, and remaining family joined.

Bonnie loved art and music and was on a lifelong journey to acquire knowledge, compassion and spiritual growth, but most of all she loved her family, friends and the people she met along the way.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, William W. Evans, I and Della Ellen Cheek Evans; older siblings, Robert W. Evans and Lester (Matt) Evans; younger siblings, Donald J. Evans and Dolly Evans and spouse, (Lawrence) Konicoff.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, Scott B. Armstrong of Marianna, FL and their only child, Amber L. Armstrong and her spouse, Philip Bonilla of Fremont, California. Also surviving are brothers, Chris and wife, Shari of Crawfordville, FL; brother, William W. Evans, II of Malone; and sister, Elizabeth (Becky) Racaniello and spouse, Thomas Racaniello; sister-in-Law, Mary (Matt & Sandy) all of Malone, Fl. Many beloved nieces, nephews and grands to whom she is eternally grateful for all their love and support during ALL the difficult times of her life.
