Velma Bush was born July 13, 1961, in Pineville,

Louisiana, to the late Sarah Bush and Clarence Charles, Sr.

Velma received her formal education in the Rapides

Parish School System. Her caring nature motivated her to

pursue a certification to be a Certified Nurse’s Assistant.

She worked at various facilities including but not limited to

Lexington House of Alexandria.

Velma was very easy going and mild-mannered, but she

enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved

her grandkids.

Velma is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence

Charles and Sarah Bush; brother, Clarence Charles, Jr.;

daughter, Nekieda Bush; and grandson, Ronald Benson.

Velma leaves to cherish her memory, her children,

Johnita Charles, Velma Charles, Temesha Charles, Jessica

Bush, Ronald Charles, and Bobby Charles; sisters, Linda

Charles, Mary Charles, Renee Charles, and Angie Charles;

brother, Henry Charles; a loving companion, Billy Gene

Sweezer; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a

host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
